| Information about mental health programs offered by organizations participating
in the MHSIO database is divided into five levels - Organization Information, Mental Health Services Information,
Site Information, Category of Service Information, and Program Information. Organization Information An organization is the body that has been given funding to provide mental health services. Some organizations are free-standing, meaning that they have an independent board and only provide mental health services. Other organizations are 'Sponsoring Organizations', meaning that they deliver specialized mental health services within a larger, more generic environment that offers other non-mental health services. Organization information provided in the Online Service Directory includes the organization name and description. Mental Health Services Information Mental health services refers to either the part of the sponsoring organization that offers mental health services (e.g., mental health services administered by a health unit) or the entire organization that only offers mental health services. Mental health services information provided in the Online Service Directory includes the mental health services name, description, website address, contact(s), address(es), telephone number(s), email address(es), and hours of operation. Site Information Site identifies the location where mental health service delivery occurs. Some organizations operate mental health services at more than one site; one program may be delivered at more than one site. Site information provided in the Online Service Directory includes the site name, description, contact(s), address(es), telephone number(s), email address(es), and hours of operation. Category of Service Information A Category of Service refers to a broad category of specialized mental health service or support that constitutes part of the continuum of care. The Online Service Directory displays the Catgegories of Service offered by the organization. Program Information A program consists of a collection of components and/or clinical modalities which are designed to assist clients in meeting their needs and reaching their goals. A program is provided within a Category of Service, which refers to a broad category of specialized mental health service or support that constitutes part of the continuum of care. Program information provided in the Online Service Directory includes the program name, description, contact(s), address(es), telephone number(s), email address(es), hours of operation, clients served, languages offered, and program catchment area. |
